Tapas is a communal experience. The owners of Arquitecto Pitpit are great fans of Spanish cuisine, they not only understand, but live this type of hospitality. We know from them how receptive this cuisine is to the tastes of other nations, how happy it is to experiment with exciting, new dishes and adapt them to its own image.
Similarly, in the interior spaces the fully Budapestian, wonderfully decadent atmosphere of the building and the garden live together with the life-affirmation and humor of this Mediterranean hospitality. The decent Thonet chairs and the striped deck chair textiles. The white marble counter and the natural terracotta grill. The elegant, slender wall lamps above the wildly cheerful paintings of Tamás Füredi.
We used wall fixtures for the lighting of the restaurant because we wanted to leave the arch of the vault intact. Together with LumoConcept, we designed it to be multifunctional and really smart: the gently glowing spheres are atmospheric elements in the space, but they also secretly light upwards illuminating the vault. Meanwhile, a small directional spot from the inside of the sphere casts light on the table and the dinner plates. The arms are rotatable, in order to follow the tables, even if they are rearranged.
