Padron is the love child of the Beck family, whose mission is to bring the tapas bar culture native to Spain to Budapest. Accordingly, the biggest challenge in designing the Horánszky Street location was to create an authentic atmosphere that would avoid the clichéd Hispanic motifs. “We want a place that would stand its ground as any tapas bar in Barcelona, even in the suburbs,” was the request. Thus, the choice was made for a modern, minimalist design, the elements of which practically surround the central bar, which suggests immediacy. The functional spaces have perfectly fulfilled the expectations attached to them – they simultaneously create a transparent, intimate atmosphere, guarantee the comfort typical of Spanish snackers, and ensure the opportunity to eat and drink in complete solitude.
