An office extension based on the corporate identity elements of the Hungarian CAD development genius and the unique characters of the application. In Shapr3D, everything starts on a white background, where contoured surfaces, extruded shapes, bodies of revolution and the pseudo-spaces of the Escher-inspired logo appear as prominent interior design elements – all in corporate identity colors.
The extravagant design story began in Budapest, which was closed due to Covid-19, in March 2020, when the rapidly growing Shapr3D team outgrew their previous office and decided to expand. The goal of the designer Minusplus, along with the necessary floor space and functional expansion, was to create a self-identical office interior that could showcase the brand's values, which would be unique, recognizable and identifiable in the real estate market.
The design started with two strands: the floor plan and functional design were determined by the analysis of the later mode of operation, while the design principles, form set, and colors were determined by the visual language of the Shapr3D application. The next task was to inhabit the cramped floor plans that had once been sacrificed for the building's facade.
The traffic between the office areas runs along a highlighted route: a pink cable tray line leads the eye above the colored paving strip. Next to the bright blue lobby space, the former labyrinth has been straightened out, and the passage now leads to the old office space through the new super-colored multifun space. The multifun is a kitchen-dining-community space and a large meeting room, which has been given a hybrid equipment to serve a variety of different operating modes. In addition to the lobby, the necessary closed offices and meeting rooms handle the minimal external traffic.
The workstations are placed next to the facades, while the meeting rooms are located deep in the floor plans. These look out towards the facades through their unique internal windows. We have placed compact meeting booths in the temporary office space next to the internal corridor, and the thus layered floor plan division supports both private and communal working methods according to the individual needs of employees and work groups. The office therefore has all the tools to allow the user to intuitively choose between space usage solutions, be it a one- or four-person meeting box or a quick brainstorming session in the multifun. It is as handy as the software itself.
The interior appearance of the office spaces reflects the way they operate: calm, monochrome (black and white) elements in the work spaces help with focused work, while the community spaces brighten up everyday life with bright colors. The Shapr3D office is therefore not a self-contained furniture showroom, but a personalized work environment with unique solutions. The focus of the design is the user experience, in which every interior design element, color and shape evokes the Shapr3D application. This way, the interior design becomes a real interface, the interface between the app and the user.
